When to Change Ink Cartridges?

Just when is the best time to change your ink cartridges - when the software tells you OR when it actually does stop printing? If you are using original ink cartridges we would recommend that you get the most from them - do believe the software and just print until it stops - if you are using compatibles or refills then just go with what the printer software says. Modern Inkjet printers , inkjet fax and multi-function devices have on-screen software alerts that tells you when ( it thinks! Often this is just a guess!!) the ink levels of the cartridge are running low. Perhaps the most important thing to remember is do not remove the old cartridge until you are ready to insert the new cartridge.

1. DO NOT remove the old cartridge until you are ready to insert the new inkjet cartridge.

2. Follow the on-screen instructions OR open the top of your printer to gain access to the inkjet cartridge.

3. Change the cartridge carefully being careful not to touch the print heads.

Once changed some printers require that you do cartridge head alignment or cleaning cycles - you can ignore this - but for the best quality printing it is always best to do as the software recommends.

If your old cartridge is an HP or Lexmark - send it back to us for recycling!
